It may be noted that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen on shifting the secretariat from Hyderabad to Amaravati capital by June and made it clear that employees should shift to new capital. The employees too expressed their willingness and asked the government to provide necessary accommodation.

Speaking to The Hans India Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India (CRDAI) State president A Siva Reddy said that nearly 15,000 apartments are expected to be ready for occupation by June in both Vijayawada and Guntur cities. Besides, housing activity also picked up in rural areas of Krishna and Guntur districts. He said that the builders are geared up to speed up the construction and hand over the buildings by June.

Capital region builders association chairman Gadde Rajling said that at present nearly 6,000 apartments are ready for occupation. He said buyers are adopting a wait and watch approach and seeking apartments on lease instead of purchasing them and said another 4,000 apartments would be ready by June.

He said that major builders are also coming forward to take up construction activity in capital region and searching for sites. He said that the construction activity picked up in capital region. It is said that several builders from other States are also keen on taking up construction in capital region and waiting to pump in investments in the region.

Referring to the campaign that the house rents in Vijayawada city are sky rocketing, a resident of Satyanarayanapuram V Bhaskar said that there was no truth in the campaign. He said the owners of extension areas may be quoting high rents in new buildings. The rents in the rest of the areas in the city are normal and there was only marginal increase.
