Vempalle (Kadapa): Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president and official spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy demanded that the government set up high court in Rayalaseema according to the Sribhag pact, 1937. Speaking to the media persons here on Sunday, he said according to the pact, high court should be allocated to Rayalaseema, as the capital was already set up in Andhra region.

Lambasting at the ruling and Opposition parties, he said that the TDP and YSRCP chiefs have colluded with each other to loot the State. He lamented that the ruling TDP has not fulfilled its pre-poll promises made to the farmers like loan waiver etc. He said that people in the State have been noticing the lackadaisical attitude of the TDP legislators and would teach a lesson to the party in 2019 general elections.

Dwelling at length on the Sribhag pact, he said the high court need not be set up in the capital region as the States like Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttaranchal have their capitals and high courts set up in different locations. He alleged that the ruling and Opposition parties have been betraying the people of Rayalaseema.

Turning the heat on the ruling TDP, he said that the Congress party has provided water for drinking as well as agriculture purposes in Rayalaseema, where as the ruling TDP has not done enough for the backward region.
