Heat wave claims one in Vijayawada
Heat wave claimed the life of one person at Payakapuram in Vijayawada city on Tuesday. According to information J Durga Rao of Payakapuram died of heat wave. Police also confirmed the death.

Meanwhile In-charge Collector G Chandrudu alerted people against prevailing heat wave in Krishna district. As the temperature touched 40 degrees Celsius and heat wave continuing, he appealed to people to take necessary precautions to shield themselves from sunstroke. In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that the heat wave continues for three more days as per weather forecast.
He asked the students appearing for tenth class examinations to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from heat while returning after examinations. He said the medical officers, both in urban and rural areas, should be geared up to provide treatment for those affected with sunstroke. The day temperature touched 40 degrees Celsius in Vijayawada on Tuesday and heat wave continued till 6 pm. Majority of the roads wore deserted look in the afternoon due to increase in temperature and heat wave.
