Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation, AP Air Travellers’ Association and Tours and Travels Association of Andhra Pradesh are jointly organising International Airlines Summit, here on March 26. The summit will be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju who will be the chief guest. 

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation, AP Air Travellers’ Association and Tours and Travels Association of Andhra Pradesh are jointly organising International Airlines Summit, here on March 26. The summit will be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju who will be the chief guest.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, president of AP Air Travellers’ Association, Ch Ramakotaiah said as many as 15 airline companies agreed to participate in the summit, like Silk Air, Srilankan Airlines, Mihin Lanka, Ethihad Airways, Air Arabia, Saudi Airlines, Air Asia, Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Air Costa, Malaysian Airlines, Pawan Hans and United Airlines.

Airport directors of Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Vijayawada and Tirupati will also attend the summit. Executive director of Airport Authority of India and other officials are also likely to attend.Ramkotaiah said the summit would discuss means to improve the air connectivity from Visakhapatnam to the rest of the world, show its cargo potential and expected boom in pharma sector in the region.

President of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation G Sambasiva Rao said that the stakeholders would appeal to the government to improve the facilities at the airports and to create temperature-controlled storage facilities inside the airport to boost the exports.
