Sai Pratap joins TDP

Former Union Minister A Sai Pratap joined the ruling Telugu Desam Party here on Thursday. He was formally admitted into the party by Telugu Desam Party national president N Chandrababu Naidu. As a Congress leader, Sai Pratap had served as a Member of Parliament for six terms from the Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency in Kadapa district.
Hyderabad: Former Union Minister A Sai Pratap joined the ruling Telugu Desam Party here on Thursday. He was formally admitted into the party by Telugu Desam Party national president N Chandrababu Naidu. As a Congress leader, Sai Pratap had served as a Member of Parliament for six terms from the Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency in Kadapa district.
He was a close friend of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He quit the Congress in 2014 protesting against the bifurcation of AP. Since then he has been keeping away from active politics. Later talking to media, Sai Pratap said the state had suffered a lot following the bifurcation. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is the only leader who could take forward the state.
