Visakhapatnam: All India Adivasi Dance Festival will be held at the RK Beach from March 29 to March 31, said District Collector Dr N Yuvaraj. Dakshni Bharat Samskruthika Mandal of Thanjavur, Department of Tourism and Culture of Andhra Pradesh and Antarmukhi Society for Creative and Cultural Association are jointly organising the festival.

Adivasis from five States would be participating in the festival, he said. The artistes will perform for three days on the Beach Road from 6 pm to 9 pm on all the three days.

Local artistes from north Andhra will perform Dhimsa and Savara dances, Odisha artistes will perform Sambalpuri, Karnataka Siddhi, Madhaya Pradesh dancers will perform Gudumbaja and Kerala tribals will perform Tania.

Every day at least 100 dancers will perform, the Collector said and added that every month a cultural event would be held as per the suggestions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu who wanted to make Visakhapatnam a cultural hub of Andhra Pradesh.

Local Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Ch Ayyana Patrudu would be the chief guests on the concluding day, the Collector said.
