The Opposition YSR Congress party on Tuesday staged a walkout from the legislative assembly as a protest against the negligence showed towards the drought conditions in the state by the government.

Castigating the TDP government, opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the government is not bothered about the drought conditions and questioned as to why action was not being taken towards the severe water crisis in the state. Jagan refuted the government's claims that the water table has risen in the state by saying that there are people who are still forced to walk several miles to fetch water in Vizianagaram, East Godavari and Prakasam districts.

The government's delay in submitting the drought report has led to the paltry allocations subsequently resulting in AP being allocated only Rs 430 crore and Rs 280 crores in two installments although the demand was of Rs 2340 crore, said the Opposition leader.

YS Jagan along with the party MLAs staged a protest against the government's attitude by walking out of the Assembly.
