Amaravati: Principal Secretary, Roads and Buildings department, B Sam Bob has said that the government will develop R&B roads at a cost of Rs 320 crore in Guntur, Krishna and Kurnool districts on the occasion of Krishna Pushkaralu. He reviewed arrangements for Krishna Pushkaralu at a meeting held in Guntur Collectorate on Saturday.

Speaking on this occasion, he instructed the officials to remove encroachments and widen the roads for the convenience of pilgrims. He said that more pilgrims likely to visit historical Amaravati during Krishna Pushkaralu and instructed the officials make necessary arrangements and provide necessary infrastructure in Amaravati.

He instructed the officials to make arrangements by keeping in mind the works executed during Godavari Pushkaralu. He urged them to see that no untoward incident would take place and set up barricades.He instructed the officials to send proposals to develop the highways and roads during the next three months for Krishna Pushkaralu.

He instructed the Guntur Municipal Commissioner K Nagalakshmi to complete the underground drainage works for developing the R&B roads in Guntur city. He said that the R&B department would take up road works after completion of underground drainage works. He instructed the APSRTC officials to set up temporary bus stations for the convenience of pilgrims.

Later, speaking to the media, Sam Bob said that the officials had prepared proposals to develop 492-km road at cost of Rs 155 crore for Krishna Pushkaralu in Guntur district. He said they have to develop Gunur -Amaravati and Sattenapalli -Madipadu roads to meet pilgrim rush for Pushkaralu.

Earlier, Guntur District Collector Kantilal Dande explained works taken up at Pushkar ghats through PowerPoint presentation and added that he had already visited the ghats to develop infrastructure. Guntur Municipal Commissioner S Nagalakshmi, R&B engineer-in-chief Gangadhar, District Revenue Officer K Nagababu and officials of various government departments were present.
