Vijayawada: The state cabinet, which focused its attention on various issues confronting the government, has decided to take measures to resolve the contentious issues like filling up vacancies in a phased manner, writing a letter to Prime Minister giving department-wise details of the funds that are due from the Centre and setting up of fast-track courts to deal with cases of AgriGold, Abhaya Gold and Akshya Gold-type of cases.

The cabinet has decided to fill up 25,000 government posts in a phased manner. It has also decided to organise Ugadi festival in a grand scale. The cabinet decided to launch the programme to construct six lakh houses on 125th Ambedkar Jayanthi day. Naidu decided to take up tour of all the 13 districts to review the implementation of various welfare schemes.

The cabinet, which reviewed the policy of supplying sand free of cost, decided to introduce a mobile app through which consumers can order sand. It asked AP Mineral Development Corporation to appoint a coordinator at sand reaches. According to IT Minister P Raghunath Reddy, the Cabinet has authorised the Chief Minister to write to the central government to delegate the forest land to the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).

The Cabinet cleared the proposal to take 13,223.66 hectares of forest land in Krishna and Guntur districts to be given to the CRDA. The State would pay Rs 1,357 crore compensation to the Central government towards the land. Another important decision taken was to allocate land for the establishment of central government institutions and other industries in the state.

The government agreed to allocate 600 acres of land to the Hero company to establish motorcycle manufacturing unit. The land at Satyavedu mandal of Chittoor district would be given to the company, which would invest Rs 1,600 crore to manufacture 18 lakh two-wheelers per year.

Reddy said 10.15 acres of land at Putlampalli village of Kadapa district to the Commissioner Higher Education. This land would be used for the establishment of the Moulana Azad National Urdu University, he said.

The government had also allocated 241.50 acre of land at Gambheeram village of Anandapuram mandal in Visakhapatnam to the Commissioner, Technical Education, to establish Indian Institute of Management (IIM), 172.08 acres at Tadepalligudem and Kondruprolu to establish National Institute of Technology (NIT) and 491.23 acres of land at Chintaluru village of Bukkaraya Samudram mandal of Ananthapur district to establish Central University.

The lands would be handed over to the respective departments to start the work for the Central institutions shortly, the Minister added. The government had also allocated lands to the NEDCAP to establish wind power projects in Kurnool and Ananthapur districts. The NEDCAP would establish the wind power units as joint venture with the private companies, he added.
