Visakhapatnam: The ambition and the vision of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to develop all residential colony parks by providing necessary infrastructure and greenery with the participation of residents’ associations, will be adopted in all areas in the city, informed HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
The Minister visited a colony park developed by residents at a posh colony Pandurangapuram Residents’ Welfare Association here on Friday and complimented both VUDA officials and the association for joining together to develop the space as a State of the art park with all facilities. The park is located in an extent of 70 cents near to the residence of VUDA Vice-Chairman which was earlier given to the Pandurangapuram layout residents. The Residents’ Association had approached the VUDA seeking its support in developing the space as a park.
Accordingly, VUDA took up beautification works at a cost of Rs 22 lakh while the Residents’ Association had contributed a sum of Rs 55 lakh.
The facilities inside the park include avenue plantation, play equipment, lighting, ornamental entrance, granite sit-outs, fountain, flower beds and green carpet grass lawns. It was also decided to construct a building with ground plus two floors with facilities like open gym, tennis court and to erect a Buddha statue.
The Minister who was satisfied with the park development, said that this will be an inspiration to other Residents’ Associations in developing their parks and said he would invite the Chief Minister to inaugurate the park during his next visit to the city. VUDA Vice-Chairman T Baburao Naidu, MLAs Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu and Palla Srinivas Rao, Residents’ Welfare Association representatives Peda Veerraju, Abbai, M Ramam, M Usha Raju, A V Siva Prasad and Y Sanyasi Naidu, AU Registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao, former AU V-C Prof G S N Raju and TDP leader Allu Bhanumathi were also present.
