Amaravati: Very soon we will have another ‘bhakti’ channel propagating Saivism. The proposed Saiva channel will telecast all programmes held in the Siva temples across the country and propagate Saivism.The Andhra Pradesh government, which has applied to the Ministry of Broadcasting for permission to start the channel, is seeking advice from experts on how to operate the proposed Saiva channel with minimum costs.

After getting the report, the Endowment Department will take further steps to start the channel on the lines of SVBC channel of TTD. TTD, which operates SVBC channel in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages, has the capacity to launch another two channels, according to highly-placed sources.

There is no need to purchase additional equipment. A separate studio is enough. Responding to the request of Minister for Endowments P Manikyala Rao, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has agreed to appoint an IAS officer as executive officer for Srisailam Brahmaramba Sametha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple soon. Young IAS officers are not showing interest to stay put in Srisailam, it is learnt.
