ONGC celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti

Rajamahendravaram: Debasis Sanyal, ED-Asset Manager, ONGC Rajahmundry Asset, has said Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar played an instrumental role in industrialising and introducing labour-friendly policies in India, besides hugely contributing to making of the constitution. He took part in 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Saheb held at ONGC Base Complex on Thursday.

He said Ambedkar’s ideas on the betterment of under-privileged had influenced numerous welfare policies of the governments and ONGC’s CSR and Component Plan are also influenced by his ideas of making a better society, said Sanyal. Baba Saheb’s marginal family background and un-friendly society around him could not deter him from championing the cause of the socially marginalised sections of society, informed Sanyal.

From this great soul’s resolute determination and struggles, the youth of the day has a lot to take inspiration to build their successful careers and serve society, he said. Earlier, Sanyal garlanded the Ambedkar’s bust statue arranged for the occasion. Senior officers and office-bearers of All India SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, the Petroleum Employees Union, the Association of Scientific and Technical Officers, the All India ONGC OBC and MOBC Employees Welfare Association also garlanded Ambedkar statue.

Commemorating the event, the ONGC, under the aegis of the All India SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, organised a blood donation camp at Surya Gardens in association with Red Cross Society.
