Minister for Agriculture Prattipati Pulla Rao laid the foundation stone for the construction of 60,142 double bedroom houses under the NTR Housing Scheme at a cost of Rs18.6 crore at a programme held in Nallakunta in Guntur district on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the aim of the government was to provide a double bedroom house to all the poor families in the state. 

Amaravati: Minister for Agriculture Prattipati Pulla Rao laid the foundation stone for the construction of 60,142 double bedroom houses under the NTR Housing Scheme at a cost of Rs18.6 crore at a programme held in Nallakunta in Guntur district on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the aim of the government was to provide a double bedroom house to all the poor families in the state.

The government had decided to construct 6 lakh houses under the scheme in the state. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had drawn inspiration from Dr B R Ambedkar and that was the reason for his launching of the housing scheme on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar. He urged the poor to avail the benefits of the welfare scheme.

MP Galla Jayadev said that all the poor families would get a house under the scheme. District Collector Kantilal Dande said that the aim of the government was to provide house to all the poor families. MLC AS Rama Krishna appreciated the CM for taking an initiative to construct 6 lakh house for poor families in the state.

MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy said that the district administration had sanctioned 12,000 houses to the poor families in Guntur city and directed the officials to complete the construction within the stipulated time. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Shaik Janimun, Joint Collector Cherakuri Sridhar and GMC Commissioner S Nagalakshmi were among those participated.
