Vizianagaram: Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju was sworn in as hereditary trustee of Varaha Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam on Monday.
Executive officer of the temple K Ramachandra Mohan conducted a programme in temple premises and concluded the formalities. Chairman of MANSAS trust and hereditary trustee of Simhachalam temple, P Ananda Gajapathi Raju died recently and later the government issued a GO appointing Ashok as the new trustee of the temple.
Recalling his attachment with his brother late P Ananda Gajapathi Raju, Ashok burst into tears and said that he had never expected such a bitter movement that he would take a charge as trustee of the temple. “But I will sincerely cooperate to develop the temple in all aspects,” he added.
After the demise of Ananda Gajapathi Raju, now Ashok become the trustee of 108 temples including Simhachalam in north Andhra and East Godavari districts.
