Visakhapatnam: The APEPDCL CMD Revu Mutyala Raju in a press release said that EPDCL became the first e-Office electricity distribution company among all power utilities in India. There are 62,291 files were created in e-Office in the AP government. Of them, 50,036 are APEPDCL files which means almost 80.32% of the total files created and achieved first position. The Civil Supplies Dept is in 2nd position with 2,508 files. Next are the Departments of VUDA with 1,886 files, Police Commissionerate of Vijayawada with 1764 and SERP with 1447 files.
Another key feature of the project is, in remarkable progress, 2843 e-office users working in 532 offices of APEPDCL have contributed to achieve the feat by creating the 50036 files and 91585 receipts in e-office. This contributes to saving large number of trees which otherwise would have have been cut for producing 4.5 lakh of A4 size sheets estimated as saved by APEPDL through
e-office.
The e-Office was launched on 14th August,2015 in this Corporate office and made it into paperless. From November 30th, all the five circle offices of the APEPDCL became e-office and entire net work connected with Corporate Office. The object of the e-office is to clear the files without delay, transparency, and accountability. The software is capable of handling department files in electronic format and has features such as knowledge management system, personal information system , collaboration and messaging services. The software is user friendly and can be used by the public to view the status. He further said that he could view and go through the files wherever he is. He can attend a meeting somewhere else. He could check the files and instruct.
The Discom has one corporate office, five circle offices, 20 divisional offices, 81 sub-divisional offices, 31 electricity revenue office and 309 section offices in its jurisdiction across the five coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavri.
