2 killed as RTC bus rams into lorry

Two were killed and 15 other passengers sustained injuries when a speeding RTC bus rammed into a stationary lorry at Gowravaram in the early hours of Tuesday. The bus was proceeding to Nellore from Vijayawada when the accident took place. According to Kavali rural police, Parigi Venkatesh (31) and Padarthi Ratnam (55), who were sitting in front rows, have died in the mishap.

Venkatesh hails from Kandukur in Prakasam district and Ratnam was the resident of North Rajupalem in Nellore. Among those injured, Mohan of Dagadarthi in Nellore district received multiple fractures. Police said that health condition of the injured is stable.
