Timber worth 1 crore gutted

A timber depot caught on a fire due to the short circuit in the early hours of Tuesday on Mydukur road. According to the Star Timber Depot owner Mahaboob Basha, fire engulfed in the depot at 2 am and he immediately alerted locals and fire services personnel. Six fire tenders arrived on the spot from different places of the district.

Six fire tenders arrived on the spot from different places of the district.
Dousing flames became difficult as a fire spread fast through dry logs which were ready for cutting. The fire brought under control after 9 am. District Fire Officer Sambasiva Reddy personally supervised the fire-fighting operations. More than Rs 1 crore worth timber reportedly gutted in the mishap.
