Madanapalle: The students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) here developed a project which could be very useful for farming community. This project has been done by G Reddy Jyoshna, C Guna Sekhar, VM Vikram Kumar, S Haravinda Reddy.

The main motto of this project is to detect the animals which enter the fields like paddy, wheat, tomato etc. Farmers are worried about animals straying into the agricultural fields and causing damages. It can result a huge financial loss to the farmers. Sometimes animals may cause harm to human beings. This innovation is very useful to overcome all these problems.

In this setup, the students used cameras which will send the information to micro-computer. In turn, micro-computer checks whether any animal had strayed into the field. If the animal is detected, it will check whether the animal is hazardous or not. This system will also activate the buzzer alerts with blinking flashlights and the same information will be sent to the mobile phone of the users. Apart from this, siren can also be used.

This detector has to be installed in the border of the farm. It costs Rs 11,000 for making the detector. M Lokesh, Assistant Professor of EEE, was the project supervisor. The college management, Principal Dr C Yuvaraj and HoD KVRB Prasad have appreciated the students.
