YSRCP chief and the leader of opposition of AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday ended his three-day Jala Deeksha at Kurnool.

The Deeksha was taken as a protest against Chandrababu Naidu's attitude for not being able to Telangana government over the irrigation projects - Palamuru, Rangareddy Dindi projects that were being undertaken over Krishna and Godavari rivers affecting AP.

Addressing the media, YS Jagan pointed out that the lift irrigation project in Mahabubnagar would lead to the closing of water flow towards the Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar, further stating that even the water reaching the Telugu states is after the complete utilisation in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Thousands of people gathered at the venue along with party workers and activists extending support to Jagan.

The YSRCP Chief castigated both the Chief Ministers of Telugu states over the irrigation projects on Godavari and Krishna and added that the would undertake a Deeksha again at Polavaram if Chandrababu and KCR don't arrive at an amicable settlement within two months.

Vowing to continue the struggle to protect the interests of the people in the state, YS Jagan urged the people of Andhra Pradesh and all political parties to join the struggle. He even appealed to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to consider the water needs downstream before taking up projects pointing out that the AP region particularly Rayalaseema, would get parched if the TS government 70000 cusecs.
