Vijayawada: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna alleged that both Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu had cheated the people of Andhra Pradesh on issue of special status.

Speaking to press persons at the ‘Meet the Press’ organised here on Monday, he said the State was losing heavily in terms of economy due to the denial of the special status. Referring to Chief Minister’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi recently, he alleged that Venkaiah Naidu had deliberately kept himself away from that meeting.

Alleging that the NDA government was pursuing the policies for the benefit of pro-rich, he slammed the Modi government for doing nothing on the issue of the black money stashed away abroad.

“After this government came to power, the number of billionaires in the country had gone from 61 to 100,” he pointed out. On recent attack on the CPI (M) central office in New Delhi by RSS activists, he said it was a dangerous sign in the country. He said verbal attacks and allegations were common between various political parties, but for the first time in India such attack took place in the capital.
