Eluru: Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan has said that all drains and roads will be developed completely by 2019 in the city and provide better facilities to citizens. The Mayor laid a foundation stone to internal CC road with an estimated cost of Rs 7.2 lakh at New Bus Complex in Narasimharaopeta here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that during last two years, the Eluru Municipal Corporation had implemented Rs 35 crore worth development works in Eluru city. She said the main drains were modernised in a planned manner and all new drains would be constructed as cement drains.

She said that Jalipudi drain, which takes the wastewater of the city to Kolleru, would also be de-silted soon. The streetlights in the city have also been developed and the corporation arranged 8,000 LED bulbs. Deputy Mayor Gudivada Ramachandra Kishore, former deputy mayor Chode Venkataratnam, co-option member SMR Pedababu, corporate Punukollu Pardhasaradhi and others participated.
