Heat wave conditions prevail in coastal AP

Heat wave conditions prevailed in Guntur, East Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday. Dry weather prevailed in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.  

- Bapatla records 44.5 degrees C; Vijayawada 43.2 degrees C

Hyderabad: Heat wave conditions prevailed in Guntur, East Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday. Dry weather prevailed in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

The Met office said on Tuesday that there was a marked rise in the day temperatures at one or two places in the coastal districts and no large change in Rayalaseema. They were markedly above normal at one or two places in coastal AP and above normal at one or two places in Rayalaseema. The highest maximum temperature of 45.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jangamaheswarapuram.

The other recordings of temperatures elsewhere in the State were: Bapatla 44.5, Visakhapatnam Airport 43.6, Kakinada, Machilipatnam 43.4 each, Nandigama, Vijayawada and Ongole 43.2.
