Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar has revealed that soon 50 Mobile Rythu Bazaars will be established in municipalities and towns in the district to supply fresh vegetables to the people.

Reviewing priority sector progress with officials at Collectorate here on Wednesday, the Collector said the Mobile Rythu Bazaars would provide vegetables at cheaper prices to the people without involvement of middlemen. He directed the marketing officials to take special care in this regard.

He directed the marketing officials to provide four Mobile Rythu Bazaars in every municipality and also in Akiveedu and Penugonda areas. He said six Rythu Bazaars have sanctioned to Tadepalligudem, Koyyalagudem, Jangareddigudem, Nidadavole, Tanuku and Chintalapudi towns. He directed officials to provide cold storage in Rythu Bazaars.

He directed the agriculture and horticulture officials to analyse the soil samples and register the date online. He also directed them to issue soil test cards to every farmer in the district before the Kharif season. He said that during the present financial year, it was targeted to cultivate mulberry in 500 acres.

The Collector directed the sericulture Deputy Director to keep ready 180 sheds with a cost of Rs 5.4 crore to encourage mulberry cultivation.
