Chittoor:Saptagiri Grameena Bank Chittoor has achieved a record growth among all the Regional Rural Banks RRBs in the country by setting up of new branches procuring deposits and CAR Capital Adequacy Ratio said Chairman B Suribabu.

The bank has opened 18 new branches in Chittoor and Krishna districts during 2015-16 with a total business growth of Rs 7,231 crore, which is a record of sorts in the history of RRBs, he pointed out.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, Suribabu said that the bank has been consistently managing one of the top positions among the RRBs in Capital Adequacy Ratio. He said that the bank has collected Rs 3,696 crore deposits, advances Rs 3,555 crore and earned a net profit of Rs 65.11 crore during 2016.

“SGB has disbursed Rs 728 crore under Pradhana Manthri Mudra Yojana for 24,410 beneficiaries covering Chittoor and Krishna districts. The bank has surpassed national target in priority sector lending”, he added.
Relentless efforts are being made to provide effective services for rural development, while impetus has been given for the uplift of the self-help groups.

The bank is committed to undertaking various initiatives like energy conservation measures by installing roof top solar systems and LED fixtures in selective branches of the bank. Under Prime Ministers Jan Dhan Yojana Scheme, the bank has opened 1.99 lakhs basic accounts and issued 1.68 lakh Rupay cards.

Suribabu further stated that SGB has lending good services in mobile banking enabling the customers for transferring their funds through its interconnectivity with all the public sector banks and RRBs in the country.

He said that the bank has proposed to increase the lending from Rs 5 lakh to Rs.7.5 lakh for self-help groups and Rs.1.5 lakh towards crop loan without security. He said that the bank has bagged State-level award for SHG Bank Credit Linkage in Andhra Pradesh. SGB general manager Vijaya Bhaskar personal manager Dayanand development manager Shiva Kumar and senior accounts manager Ramakrishna were present.
