The Union Minister called on the Chief Minister at his office here on Tuesday. She assured cooperation for setting up Central and Tribal universities in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister appealed to the Union Minister to extend cooperation for securing Cabinet approval for Central educational institutions. Smriti Irani said measures will be taken for development of Central educational institutions in the State as per AP Reorganisation Act.

The Union Minister said that the Central government would extend cooperation to readmit school dropouts in schools. She said transport facility would be provided from residence to school and back to encourage children to attend schools. She said several international universities are ready to set up their branches in India.

The Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to help in setting up international universities in capital Amaravati for which she responded positively. Naidu informed that the State government had asked the engineering students to conduct a study on the conditions of schools to improve necessary infrastructure. Smriti Irani described him as dynamic Chief Minister and expressed confidence that the State would emerge as education hub soon.
