Websites soon for all gram panchayats in WG

Eluru: The West Godavari district administration is set to roll out a comprehensive website for all gram panchayats in the district, said Collector K Bhaskar.

The Collector reviewed the tax collections biometric attendance system and other issues relating to various grama panchayats in the district at a meeting held at the Collectorate here on Friday.

Addressing the officials he said all details of villages including their heritage land availability crops and local culture would be highlighted on the proposed websites.

He directed district panchayati officials to upload information relating to banks, gas agencies farming community, the photos of major landmarks maps vital statistics, administrative set-up development indicators, child and women-related indicators and development works in progress on the websites of each gram panchayat.

He directed the officials to grant building and layout permissions online in the villages. He said computers will be provided to all the panchayats in the district to implement biometric attendance system.

Besides, he directed the officials to implement e-filing system in the panchayats as part of paperless administration in the village level.

The Collector said the district administration had decided to construct 1,445 dumping yards in 909 gram panchayats in the district and directed the officials to prepare estimates for the identified 999 yards immediately.

He suggested the officials to dump the waste in the dumping yard to make the villages clean and sustainable.

Divisional panchayati officer Rajyalakshmi and ERDOs explained the details of tax collection to the Collector.
