Aadhaar seeding must for NREGS accounts

​Nellore: District Collector M Janaki said Aadhaar seeding has to be completed for all accounts of NREGS beneficiaries. She addressed the District Consultative Committee Meeting of Banks on Friday at Golden Jubilee Hall on Friday.

The Collector said that Aadhaar seeding is compulsory for all NREGS accounts as per guidelines of the banks. She directed the DWMA officials to monitor the completion of Aadhaar seeding.

She also said bank accounts have to be opened personally by visiting branches, even if they are located in distant places from villages. District Collector suggested to bankers to verify performance of small industries for an understanding on the sector.

She said the State government will be launching Chandranna Bima Pathakam soon and smart survey will be taken up for indentifying genuine beneficiaries. She advised bankers to check webland at the time of sanctioning loans to the farmers.

Lead District Manager Venkateswara Rao said every beneficiary has to seed Aadhaar details to his bank account by end of this month. RBI official Ganesh explained the need for financial literacy among people. NABARD AGM Ramesh Babu, senior officials of various banks were also present.
