Following Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s indefinite hunger strike for the third day on Saturday in the government hospital in Rajamahendravaram, more than 3,000 armed police personnel have been deployed in areas vulnerable to clashes in Kakinada police sub-division.  

Kakinada: Following Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s indefinite hunger strike for the third day on Saturday in the government hospital in Rajamahendravaram, more than 3,000 armed police personnel have been deployed in areas vulnerable to clashes in Kakinada police sub-division.

Of the total 3,000 police personnel, 1,500 are from ITBP and the remaining 1,500 are from AP Reserve police. In the wake of imposition of IPC Sections 30 and 144 from June 1 in EG district, 70 police pickets were arranged in the sub-division to bring the law and order situation under control. The installation of 80 CC cameras about six months ago in Kakinada, is also coming in handy for the police.
