Visakhapatnam: S Venkata Appa Rao (35), who was working as a Home Guard in Anandapuram police station, was knocked down by a
speeding truck on the national highway in the wee hours of Saturday. The mishap occurred when Appa Rao was going to his house on a
bike after night duty.
On receiving information, AP State Home Guards’ Welfare Association president N Ramakrishna Yadav and other Home Guards reached
the Bhimili government hospital where post-mortem was conducted. The association members paid homage to departed soul and
appealed to the city police higher officials to extend financial help to the kin of the deceased family.
