NYK volunteers to adopt villages

Kurnool: Collector Challa Vijay Mohan said that this year the government has set a target to plant at least 1,200 saplings in all the village. The Collector convened a meeting with the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra to select them for voluntary work in the villages.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the selected volunteers have to adopt a village and take the responsibility of planting saplings besides making the villages open defecation free. They have to show the progress achieved during the three months and the volunteers have to ensure the village youth participation in the government programmes, he said.

The Collector interviewed around 200 candidates. He said that the selected candidates list would be displayed soon. The coordinator of Nehru Yuva Kendra was among the candidates.
