Traffic jams as schools reopen

Vijayawada: After nearly two months of summer vacation, schools in Krishna district re-opened on Monday for new academic year. There was rush in public transportation. Severe traffic jams were witnessed by motorists after a long time. The re-open has come to the happiness of some and a mild disappointment of others.

Not to forget mentioning the bustling market streets of the city, the season is the best time for a wide range of businessmen including the textile groups, fancy and stationery outlets as well as the branded footwear.
The shopkeepers are all busy making money while the parents are in a hurry to make it up to the last minute purchases for their children to get back to the regular activity.

A parent, D Jyothi said, “It is a matter of relief to realise that one need not go shopping for textbooks and other materials as the educational institutions are providing a complete set for the child’s academic year.

However, there are always things that you should go out to acquire, say the new pencil box, pouches, fancy covers and labels for books besides others.”

J Harshit who is promoted to Class VI shared, “I am very eager to begin my school because it is a big leap from the primary classes. I am prepared to learn topics which are tough to understand because my mother, who is also a teacher has explained me the topics well in advance.”

A few corporate institutions have already conducted refreshing training for the teachers to ensure that they stand up to the respective requirements.
