Giddalur (Prakasam): The whereabouts of a housewife who was abducted six months ago, still remains a mystery to her husband and her two kids.

Darla Adilakshmi, wife of Venkata Ramana of Singarapalle village in Bestavaripeta mandal, and her two children were allegedly abducted by Dasari Adaviraju and auto driver Krishna of the same village on January 5.

Later, the mother and children were taken to Hyderabad. After leaving the weeping children at the house of people known to them, the abductors allegedly sold Adilakshmi to a brothel. The alleged involvement of village sarpanch in the abduction was not ruled out.

Adilakshmi’s husband and relatives allege that though they had lodged a complaint with police that she was abducted, a missing complaint was registered. The local Sub-Inspector is maintaining that the whereabouts of Adilakshmi are not known though two police teams were set up to trace her.

Venkat Ramana’s anguish to know about the fate his wife, is forcing him to visit to the Grievance Cell held by the District Collector on Mondays. Though he made a representation to DGP JV Ramudu, there was little progress in the `missing case’.

He was getting irresponsible replies from some policemen during his frequent visits to the local police station and they are alleging that she would have eloped with someone and could certainly return one day.

With the passage of time, Venkata Ramana is finding it increasingly difficult to console his two children. Moved by the misery of two children, villagers urged the local police to speed up the investigation.
