Protesters lay siege to Allavaram police station

Amalapuram: Demonstrations extending support to arrested Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham are continuing in the Konaseema region. Local leaders staged a protest in front of Allavaram police station. Later, they blocked the roads and gave slogans against the Chief Minister and Home Minister.
The police were on toes as they were caught unawares with the protest. ASP Damodar reached Allavaram and reviewed the situation.
Large number of women from Ganti, Pedapudi villages of P Gannavaram mandal gathered on the main roads and stalled the traffic. Women also staged a protest at Edarapalli in Amalapuram rural mandal, Kothapet bus stand and Palavela bridge.
