Visakhapatnam: Floor of leader of BJP in the Assembly and MLA from Visakhapatnam North P Vishnu Kumar Raju met Collector on Friday and objected to the abrupt closure of the unrecognsed schools which affected a large number of students and rendered several teachers jobless.

Later talking to the reporters, Raju said he explained the problems of the parents over the closure of the unrecognised schools after the start of the new academic year and how it would financially and mentally burden the parents.

The education officials should have completed the closure of unrecognsed schools before reopening of schools. But now, thousands of students had already took admissions in these schools and their parents paid school fees and purchased uniforms and stationery.

The seizure of these schools has now forced them to take admissions in another private school which would double their expenses.

Many parents are in dilemma as to whether they would get any refund from the seized schools and what to do with the purchased uniforms and stationery.

I requested the Collector to consider relaxing the norms for this year,” he added.Earlier on Thursday, Raju wrote a letter comprising 21 points to the Collector, asking how the district
administration should facilitate admissions into new schools and how the parents would get the earlier paid fee
back.
