Tirupati: CPI General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy stressed on the Left and Socialist parties to join hands to check the rise of communal BJP and Sangh Parivar. He said that though the vote share of the BJP had decreased, the party managed to win more seats in the recent elections in the five States, while the Left parties failed to increase their seats despite improving their vote share.

Reddy said that the only way to stop the communal forces was the unity of Left and socialist parties, which he said was the need of the hour. Party State joint secretary JV Satyanarayna urged the cadre to identify the problems faced by the weaker sections and solve them.

He said that these sections were unable to reap the fruits of development. In this connection, he vociferously demanded implementing reservation in the burgeoning private sector for the empowerment of weaker sections. Muppala Nageswar Rao also expressed concern over the caste still dominating politics affecting the interests of weaker section.

“Caste has been wreaking havoc with the lives of vulnerable sections,” he said and urged the party to take up a sustained campaign for caste annihilation. The three-day meet will conclude on Thursday with a public meeting. Party leaders K Narayana, K Ramakrishana, P Haranatha Reddy and others were present.
