Vijayawada: Former Minister and YSRCP leader K Parthasarathi came down heavily on the Telugu Desam government for neglecting farmers in the State and ignoring the financial assistance assurance from the Central government to build capital city.

Addressing the newspersons at the party’s city office here on Friday, Parthsarathy alleged that the Chief Minister is keen on minting money from the sources by taking to Swiss Challenge system, despite objections from Kelkar Committee.

Kelkar Committee has clearly stated that the Swiss Challenge mode lacked transparency and fails to benefit the potential bidders. Also the Central government has assured to give required financial assistance towards construction of capital. Why the Chief Minister had to depend on the public private partnership for the same,” he questioned.

The government has so far did not clarify about availability of seeds and fertilisers to farmers who lost crores of rupees in the last year. Either the Chief Minister or the Irrigation Minister released a schedule for the current crop season putting farmers in a fix. The modus operandi of the government seems to be earning money, he added.

The YSRCP is pro -development and wouldn't object growth and welfare of the people. Remarks from Opposition and critics should be taken positively for a holistic development of the State. Alleging or accusing Jagan Mohan Reddy shouldn't be the motive of TDP, he said.
