City diabetologist gets Best Doctor Award
Dr Venugopal Reddy received the award at a function organised by the HealthCare International at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad on Friday to mark the National Doctors’ Day. Dr Venugopal Reddy treated thousands of diabetes patients in the last one decade.
Vijayawada: Dr K Venugopal Reddy of VGR Diabetes Specialties Hospital has been selected for the Best Doctor Award by the State government for 2016 in recognition of his efforts to promote awareness among the people about diabetes.
Dr Venugopal Reddy received the award at a function organised by the HealthCare International at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad on Friday to mark the National Doctors’ Day. Dr Venugopal Reddy treated thousands of diabetes patients in the last one decade.
He has so far organised more than 2,000 awareness meets to educate people on diabetes. He also participated in 550 Hello Doctor programmes on radio and 400 programmes on TV as part of his endeavour to promote diabetes awareness. Speaking after receiving the award, Dr Venugopal Reddy said he would take up a massive diabetes awareness campaign for the benefit of people of remote villages in the State.
