Yemmiganur (Kurnool): Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha on Saturday extensively toured the constituency and distributed Ramzan Tohfa among Muslims. She warned fair price shop dealers against resorting to irregularities.
She said that the Chief Minister has been extending festival gifts to Hindus for Sankranti, to Christians for Christmas and to Muslims for Ramzan.
She said that 11 lakh Muslims have benefitted from the Ramzan gift in the State. Under Mee intiki Mee Ration programme, over 5,900 senior citizens have identified to derive benefit in the district.
The elderly and senior citizens, who cannot reach fair price shops will get their monthly rations delivered at door step under the programme with effect fromJuly 6, she said. She thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning a Urdu University to Kurnool.
