The Godavari river water level at Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage rose to 8.8 feet by Monday evening and the Irrigation Department is releasing 2.7 lakh cusecs by fully lifting all the gates. The water level increased steeply since Sunday due to heavy inflows from Bhadrachalam.

The water level increased steeply since Sunday due to heavy inflows from Bhadrachalam.
According to Irrigation officials, the water level will decrease considerably by Tuesday morning as the water levels at Bhadrachalam started coming down as also the water levels of the tributaries.
