​Vijayawada: The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Tuesday cleared the proposal to lay a direct road to Velagapudi, the venue for the temporary Secretariat.

The 2.4-km long road from the existing flood bank from Uddandarayapalem is estimated to cost Rs 2.5 crore.
The CRDA in-charge commissioner and Guntur district joint collector Dr Cherukuri Sridhar, who chaired the meeting had directed the officials concerned to go for tenders to lay the new road.

He also directed them to ensure that the road connects the flood bank with the temporary Secretariat building.
The CRDA in-charge commissioner had also directed the officials to speed up the work on the widening and development of the road from Penumaka to the flood bank passing through Krishnayapalem village.

He directed the officials of the CRDA engineering division to take the help of the revenue officials if they have any problems in developing the road.

However, he wanted them to speed up the works and complete them at the earliest as the officials have already started working from the new Secretariat building.

CRDA engineer-in-chief S Ramamurthy, Guntur district Revenue Divisional Officer Srinivasa Rao, Sattenapalle DSP M Madhusudana Rao and other officials were present at the meeting.
