Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is learned to have expressed his displeasure over the apathy of the party leaders in countering criticism on the government.

Speaking to the party leaders at the coordination committee at his residence on Thursday, Naidu had reportedly expressed his displeasure over the failure of the party leaders, including Ministers in countering criticism from Telangana government. He also reportedly expressed his unhappiness over the BJP leaders targeting the party on demolition of temples in the city.

The meeting which started three hours behind the schedule, discussed Telangana government’s allegations against the TDP and State government on river water issues and the alleged hacking of their website.

He wondered why the party leaders and the Ministers did not respond to the TS criticism on the website hacking. It is said that he had asked the party leaders to keep countering the criticism failing which the criticism would create a wrong impression among people.

Naidu also said to have expressed his displeasure over the party leaders failure to counter the BJP’s criticism on removing temples from road margins.

He said that the leaders’ silence had given a chance to the BJP and others to take out a huge rally in the city against the government. The issue has dented the image of the government, he is understood to have told the leaders and asked them to keep speaking to the media spreading the message of the government.

The Chief Minister also told the leaders to take active part in the Smart Pulse Survey schedule to begin on July 8. He wanted the leaders right from the Ministers in the Cabinet to those from the Parliament to take active part in the programme.
Though it is a government programme, he wanted the leaders to join it as it gives a chance to the party to reach to every house in the State.

He wanted the leaders to explain to the people various programmes that the government is implementing for the welfare of the people in general and for the development of the State, in particular. He reportedly told them that their active participation in the programme would nullify YSR Congress party’s door-to-door campaign which is also scheduled to start from July 8.

The TDP State president K Kala Venkata Rao, Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, K E Krishna Murthy, Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao Rao, Ch Ayyannapatrudu, B Gopalakrishna Reddy, P Pulla Rao, K Atchannaidu, Paritala Suneetha, Peethala Sujatha and others were present at the meeting.
