​Hyderabad: The Met department on Monday warned of heavy rain occurring at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East & West Godavari districts during the next two days.

It forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowers in the coastal and Rayalaseema districts from July 12 to 16, as a fresh upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Odisha and its adjoining Jharkhand.

The Met bulletin said the low pressure area over Jharkhand and its neighbourhood now lies over the north-east Madhya Pradesh and its neighbourhood. The trough from Madhya Pradesh to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema is persisting.

The low pressure area and trough will bring light to moderate rain/thundershowers at many places in the coastal districts and at isolated places in Rayalaseema from July 12 to 16.

During the last 24 hours, rain occurred at a isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, while dry weather prevailed in Rayalaseema.

There was four cm of rain in Ichchapuram of Srikakulam district. While Kunavaram received two cm of rain, there was one cm rain in, Mandasa, Vararamachandrapur, Kukunoor, Chintur, Marteru, Velairpad, Chintapalle, Araku Valley, Paderu and Tekkali.

During the last 23 hours, Ongole recorded the day’s highest temperature of 37 degrees Celsius.
