Prattipati rejects YSRCP charges claims 60% works completed

Amaravati: Minister for Agriculture Prattipati Pulla Rao on Wednesday inspected Pushkar ghat works at Tallayapalem and Amaravati, and instructed the officials to complete the works by July-end.
Guntur District Collector Kantilal Dande and engineering officials explained to the Minister about the progress of works.Speaking to the media, the Minister said that the government had allocated Rs 800 crore to provide facilities for pilgrims during Krishna Pushkaralu.
He said that they were expecting one crore pilgrims in Guntur district and added that steps were taken to complete works by July 30.
He further said that Seethangaram, Tallayapalem, Penumudi and Amaravati ghats were major ghats in Gutnur district. He said that the district administration had taken steps to provide facilities in Pushkar Nagars and at Pushkar ghats.
He instructed the officials to maintain quality in works. He warned that if the contractors failed to maintain quality, concerned contractors would be kept in blacklist. The Minister said that the government would use songs written by film actor Rajendra Prasad for publicity purpose.
Meanwhile, the YSRCP leaders Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, AmbatiRambabu, Ravi Venkata Ramana, MLA A Rama Krishna Reddy inspected ghats at Tallayapalem and Amaravati on Wednesday.
Speaking on this occasion, Marri Rajasekhar alleged that the government had failed to maintain quality in Krishna Puskaralu works because Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh Naidu had taken bribes from the contractors and allotted works.
He alleged that only 20 percent of works had been completed so far. Ambati Rambabu alleged that the government lacked commitment to complete the works within the stipulated time.
While the YSRCP alleged that officials were given a free hand on quality in Pushkaralu works, the Minister, Pulla Rao who visited the Pushkar ghats denied the charge. He said that the YSRCP leaders were making baseless allegations and trying to obstruct the Pushkaralu works.
He claimed that the government was giving top priority for quality in works. He said that so far, they had completed more than 60 percent works. There was no truth in the allegations made by the YSRCP leaders.
