Kakinada: Remunerative price for farm produce, timely supply of water for irrigation, prevention of fake pesticides were the three main demands made by the farmers at the public hearing, organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Agriculture Commission at Krishi Bhavan in Kakinada on Thursday.

Headed by Prof R Radha Krishna, the other members of the Commission namely D N Reddy, S Gulab, P P Reddy, S N Raju, K S Reddy, T Satyanarayana, Prof Mishra Ventra Reddy interacted with the farmers on their second day visit to East Godavari.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Radha Krishna said that the committee was formed to study the post-bifurcation situation of the State, reasons behind growing farmer-suicides and to overcome obstacles in farming sector across the State. He further added that the commission was making comprehensive study on various government schemes and their impact on farmers.
