Chittoor: District Superintendent of Police (SP) G Srinivas said police officials can discharge their duties effectively only when they can manage personal finances and maintain fitness for better health. The SP inaugurated a one-day seminar on financial, health and fitness management held at District Police Office (DPO) on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas said several policemen were unable manage their family affairs as they lack proper understanding on managing finances and not keen to maintain their bodies physically fit. As a result, they are unable to achieve their life goals, he added.

The SP said that the government had introduced several welfare initiatives for the benefit of the police personnel. He stated that salary pay and benefits have been attracting educated youth to join the Police department.

He gave a call to police personnel to lead a happy life by changing their attitudes and habits. “Instructions were given to all the police personnel to continue practicing yoga to lead a stressful life,” he added.

Hyderabad-based Charted Accountant P Sarath Kumar has explained to police officials about the significance of managing their personal finances. Sri Venkateswara University professor D L Kusuma stressed on good eating habits while yoga master Rajendra Yogi has demonstrated the yoga postures.

Additional SP Abhishek Mohanty stated that he has been practicing Yoga from his school days. He made an appeal to police officials to continue practicing Yoga. Additional SP V Ratna, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Circle-Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors took part in the seminar.
