Visakhapatnam will be a digital valley says Information and Technology minister
He said all basic services are available online and crores of rupees are saved by disbursing pension, scholarships and loan reimbursement online.Stating that the Andhra Pradesh was the first to use technology in all spheres of activity, he said that the use of latest communication system and digital technology would strengthen the State in the financial sector.
Visakhapatnam: Minister for Information and Technology Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that with prominent IT firms evincing interest to set up their shop in Visakhapatnam, the city would turn in a digital valley.Addressing a meeting after launching AP Cloud Initiative, a programme to train youth, in AU Engineering College premises here on Friday, the Minister said the State was making best use of the technology by providing transparent services and administration.
He said all basic services are available online and crores of rupees are saved by disbursing pension, scholarships and loan reimbursement online.Stating that the Andhra Pradesh was the first to use technology in all spheres of activity, he said that the use of latest communication system and digital technology would strengthen the State in the financial sector.
He said e-cabinet came into being since 2014 and soon e-filing and fibrenet services would be launched soon. “These developments will pave the way to digitisation of the State at a faster pace,’’ Raghunatha Reddy said. He appealed the youth to make use of the AP Cloud Initiative launched by Miracle Software Solutions that would help in skill development.
Minister for Panchayat Raj Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, who accompanied Reddy, said that it was Chandrababu Naidu, who made Hyderabad, a capital for IT sector in the country. “He is making best use of technology to prevent corruption and render better services to the people,” he added.
Echoing the same Minister for Housing Kimidi Mrinalini lauded Naidu and said that developing IT provided massive employment to the youth from middle class.
Miracle Software director L Madhavi and CEO Lokam Prasad also addressed the gathering. Around 300 engineering students from various colleges were present.
