Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa has said that the State government is keen on strengthening infrastructure of police department. He said two police stations in Kakinada and Rajamahendravaram would get new buildings.

Of the two buildings, the one in Kakinada is under construction and the other in Rajamahendravaram is at finishing stage, both taken up at a cost of Rs 18 crore.Chinarajappa inaugurated the newly constructed Police Convention Hall at reserve police lines on district police office premises here on Saturday.

The building was built at a cost of Rs 1.35 crore. He informed that of the total cost, Rs 1 crore was released from district police welfare fund and rest of the amount was released from central police fund.

MP Thota Venkata Narasimham, MLA V Venkateswara Rao, SP M Ravi Prakash, representatives of Police Officers Association and others were present.
