After the breach repair works of the aqueduct were completed, the officials released water from six pumps from PLIS on Friday morning.  Each pump is releasing 350 cusecs of water, totalling 2,100 cusecs into the PRMC. The water will join River Krishna at Ibrahimpatnam Ferry point. 

Eluru: Irrigation officials on Friday released the Godavari waters from Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme (PLIS) into Polavaram Right Main Canal (PRMC), raising hopes of farmers in the Krishna delta comprising Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari districts.

It may be mentioned here that the Pattiseema is located in West Godavari district. The project is aimed at preventing the Godavari waters going waste into the sea. The irrigation officials have stopped the release of water into Krishna, following the breach to the aqueduct at Pallerlamudi in Krishna district on August 1.
