Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu appealed to youth coming for Krishna Pushkaralu to click a selfie with river in the background, and upload them on social networking sites to promote the love of nature.

He visited Pushkar ghats in and around Amaravati and interacted with pilgrims at Amareswara Ghat on Tuesday. He called upon youth to offer prayers to rivers, irrespective of one’s caste, religion and creed, to show their gratitude towards nature which helps the mankind survive.

“The youth should come forward to take pledge of ‘Maha Sankalpam’ to rededicate ourselves to the welfare of self, family and State. This should inspire us to link rivers,” he said.

The youth should take leverage of technology and internet to promote their love for nature. “Go ahead; take a selfie of you taking a holy dip. Upload it on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, You Tube and Instagram.

Your pictures will inspire 10 others and the pictures of them will inspire 100 people. With this chain, we could grow the number of people loving the nature,” he said.

Referring to growing importance of Internet of Things, popularly known as IOT, he said the youth should take leverage of technology to the fullest extent. “With IOT, I could review the arrangements done by the authorities with just a click through the drone cameras flying above Pushkar ghats,” he added.

Lauding the services rendered by the voluntary organisations in Pushkaralu, he called upon youth to take part in social service besides inspiring others to take up the mantle of serving society.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Ministers Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, P Narayana, Prathipati Pulla Rao, Kamineni Srinivas, Paritala Sunitha, MP Galla Jayadev, MLAs Kommanaboyina Sridhar and GV Anjaneyulu in his Amaravati tour along with the district collector and other officials.
