Guntur crippled by heavy rains, 48 passengers rescued by police

With heavy rains lashing in Guntur since Thursday night, many areas including Sattenapalli, Pidugurala, Narasaraopet have been worse affected.

Water has entered into houses with roads and crops submerged in rain water. Rail traffic from Guntur to other places has been disrupted, as rain water has damaged the tracks.

A bus carrying 48 passengers got stuck in flood waters at Vipparla of Kossur mandal in Guntur district. With the bus almost being submerged in water, the passengers got onto the top of the bus and cried for help. The police who were alerted of the situation were rescued to safety with the help of ropes.
